Joanna Rutecka-Góra is an adjunct professor at the Warsaw School of Economics where she teaches insurance, social insurance and old-age pension systems. She does research on social policy, mandatory and supplementary old-age pension systems, insurance and consumer protection on financial markets.
Her PhD dissertation on income redistribution in pension systems (2010) won the 1st prize in the contest for the best Ph.D. dissertation in the field of insurance and social security organized by the Polish Insurance Ombudsman Office and the Foundation of Insurance Education. Joanna Rutecka was awarded the Insurance Debut of the Year – the honour award by the Polish Chamber of Insurance and Risk Management (2011).
She is an author of numerous publications in Polish and international peer-reviewed journals. Joanna Rutecka cooperated with Polish Insurance Ombudsman, Polish Chamber of Pension Funds and Better Finance. She was an Editor-In-Chief (2016-2020) of "Rozprawy Ubezpieczeniowe. Konsument na rynku usług finansowych" (Journal of Insurance, Financial Markets and Consumer Protection, JoIN).
Joanna Rutecka is an active member of Polish and European organizations dealing with social security issues: Polish Society of Social Policy (PTPS), Polish Pension Group SGH (PPG-SGH), European Network for Research on Supplementary Pensions (ENRSP) and Polish Association of Social Insurance (PSUS). During her cooperation with Polish pension institutions she also worked with International Federation of Pension Fund Administrators (FIAP) and European Federation of Retirement Providers (EFRP, Pensions Europe).
